Joint Statement from Mayor of South Yorkshire, Doncaster Council, Doncaster Sheffield Airport and the Peel Group: future of Doncaster Sheffield Airport

Yesterday (20 July) Oliver Coppard, Mayor of South Yorkshire, and Doncaster’s Elected Mayor Ros Jones met with senior representatives from the Board of Doncaster Sheffield Airport and the Peel Group to discuss the future of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

All parties agreed the importance of using the six-week review period to explore in full all possible options relating to the future of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

All parties agreed to move at pace and establish a joint working group to start meeting as a matter of urgency.

A representative from the Government will also be invited to join.

Also in attendance at yesterday’s meeting were Nick Fletcher MP, Rosie Winterton MP, Ed Miliband MP, and senior officials from South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and Doncaster Council.
