GOLDTHORPE STRATEGIC LAND ASSEMBLY

This scheme consists of a work package to help deliver the necessary highway improvement works towards the eastern end of the M1 J6 Economic Growth Corridor (Goldthorpe).

A grant of £580k from SYMCA’s Getting Building Fund will pay for works to a key employment site and will include land acquisition of third party land and the construction of a new access/roundabout. The acquisition of this land is part of a Masterplan Framework and will ensure that Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council are in control of allocated employment land that can be proactively marketed and redeveloped.
