The key towns and core city of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority region are undergoing a private sector led urban renaissance. The SYMCA uses its available capital funding to help unlock private sector investment including transport connectivity.
A major regeneration opportunity on a 25 hectares brownfield site on the edge of Chesterfield centre. The wider scheme comprises 1,500 homes, 30,000 square metres of employment floorspace, plus retail units, restaurants, hotels and a new canal basin.
This project, which has completed, included a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
This investment is expected to deliver 330 jobs.
