Published 18 August 2021 at 2:00pm
The key towns and core city of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) region are undergoing a private sector led urban renaissance. The SYMCA uses its available capital funding to help unlock private sector investment.
This is a programme of public realm work including landscaped pedestrian/cycling routes connecting the four quarters of the campus; unlocking sites for two new science facilities; and creating a high quality setting for the new engineering schools.
This project, which has completed, includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
This investment is expected to deliver 1609 jobs.
SYMCA LGF allocation: £2,892,000
Total project cost: £8,364,292
A full record of endorsements and approvals is held on file at SYMCA offices.
