GREAT YORKSHIRE WAY PHASE 2
Published 17 August 2021 at 10:52am
Creating a super-connected city region is an important objective for the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. A key element of this is ensuring we support the growth of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
Phase 2 of the Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS) project – now known as Great Yorkshire Way – sees the completion of the SYMCA Gateway connecting Doncaster Sheffield Airport to J3 M18. This is a 2km highway which will enable a further 395,958m2 commercial development and will improve journey times and reduce congestion.
This project, which has completed, included a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
This investment is expected to deliver 5763 jobs.
SYMCA LGF allocation: £9,100,000
Total project cost: £10,555,000
A full record of endorsements and approvals is held on file at the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority offices.
