Published 16 August 2021 at 4:37pm
The key towns and core city of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority region are undergoing a private sector led urban renaissance. The SYMCA uses its available capital funding to help unlock private sector investment including transport connectivity.
This Doncaster scheme has redeveloped the station forecourt and access from St Sepulchre Gate. Works include relocating station parking, and improved pedestrian safety. The project links closely with Doncaster town centre's masterplan.
This project, which has completed, includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
SYMCA LGF allocation: £7,500,000
Total project cost: £10,972,000
