South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard has embarked on a heart-warming mission to unite the community in the spirit of the upcoming festive season.

His latest initiative, the "Christmas Card Snap," invites residents of South Yorkshire to capture the magic of Christmas through their unique and creative snapshots, with the opportunity to have their photographs featured on the official South Yorkshire Mayor Christmas card.

Running for the second year, the competition asks residents to submit their best Christmas-themed snapshots, capturing moments of joy, togetherness, and the festive spirit, until the submission deadline on Friday, November 24, 2023.

The winning entry will be selected and announced the following week, and the chosen image will be prominently displayed on the official South Yorkshire Mayor Christmas card. Mayor Coppard plans for the distribution of these cards throughout December 2023, aiming to spread joy and goodwill across the region during the holiday season.

South Yorkshire’s Mayor Oliver Coppard said: " I’m asking for help from the people of South Yorkshire, so I can send out a Christmas card that captures not only the festive spirit, but our creative talent and the pride we have in our past and our future. If you have an image you’d be happy to share, that has a touch of Christmas magic and celebrates the best of South Yorkshire, please do enter this year’s competition so I can show it off to the world!"

Whether it’s the region's stunning landscapes, lovely green spaces, spotlighting the inspiring individuals within our communities, or pictures focusing on South Yorkshire's heritage and history, Mayor Coppard would love to see it.

The winning entry will serve as the exclusive design for this year's official Christmas card, which will reach hundreds of people across the region.
