NORTHERN GATEWAY

The key towns and core city of the South Yorkshire Combined Authority region are undergoing a private sector led urban renaissance. The SYMCA uses its available capital funding to help unlock private sector investment including transport connectivity.

A key regeneration scheme in Chesterfield centre including rebuilding the Saltergate multi-storey car park, developing high-quality office space on Holywell Cross, comprehensive public realm improvements, and facilitating the redevelopment of the former Co-op building as a leisure.

This project, which is currently in delivery, includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.

This investment is expected to deliver 510 jobs.
