RAIL REPLACEMENT

We are working to build a super-connected region; improving transport connectivity within the South Yorkshire region is a priority for us. 

This investment enables renewal works to ensure the longevity of the Supertram network, including: replacement of 3.3km of life expired rail and minor repairs to concrete track slab and road surface; plus traffic management measures, replacement bus services and stakeholder engagement during the renewal works.

This project, which has completed, included a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
