SYMCA ENTERPRISE ZONES

We are home to the UK’s leading Enterprise Zone which hosts advanced manufacturing, engineering and technology, with sites in seven of our local authority areas, including Doncaster Sheffield Airport and Markham Vale business and industrial park. The Enterprise Zones across the city region have attracted new businesses and encouraged new commercial developments.

The South Yorkshire MCA has put in place an Enterprise Zone Accelerator Fund to help unlock further commercial development.

The £5million fund is to encourage and accelerate development in the SYMCA Enterprise Zone through a number of routes to stimulate development.

The project forms part of the £360m  from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
