Skills Bootcamps
South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) brings new Digital IT, Green Skills - Construction and Health and Professional (Leadership and Management) Skills Bootcamps to South Yorkshire, being delivered from May 2023.
SYMCA has awarded funding to providers across our region to deliver Skills Bootcamps, part of the Government's Skills for Life strategy, to support people to build sector-specific skills and vital training.
Skills Bootcamps are flexible courses that can last up to 16 weeks, for those aged 19+ and give people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and a guaranteed interview with a local employer on completion of the course.
Skills Bootcamps will also support individuals across priority groups including:
- Low paid workers
- The unemployed or out of work
- Veterans
- Ex-offenders
- Women
- Ethnic minorities
- The over 50s
- Those returning work after a break/maternity leave
- People living with a health conditions or disabilities.

These courses are ideal for anyone interested in a career in Digital, IT and Software Development.
Aiming to support the region's social housing and retrofitting agenda, these courses will provide an insight into the construction industry, with a focus on green skills.
These courses are aimed at first-line managers and introduce leadership and management skills for working in Health & Professional Services.
