Calling Art and Design students in South Yorkshire

South Yorkshire’s Mayor Oliver Coppard is looking for a design for his 2024 Christmas card and has called on Art and Design students across South Yorkshire to help him.

The theme is ‘Christmas in South Yorkshire, and applications are open to anyone currently enrolled in a South Yorkshire school or college, studying for a Level 3 Art or Design subject .

The Mayor is looking for a Christmas card that captures the essence of a South Yorkshire Christmas. The winning design will be sent far and wide to those who receive an annual card from him.

Announcing the start of the competition, Oliver Coppard said: ‘I want to use my Christmas card this year to showcase the amazing talent and creativity we have in South Yorkshire. Get creating and make sure you submit your ideas by the deadline’.

As well as their design featuring as the 2024 Christmas card from the Mayor, the winner will receive vouchers to the total of £250 to be used on art supplies.

The design can use any format – photos, paintings, graphic design are all welcome.

Submissions must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 20th November 2024.

  • By entering this competition you are agreeing to publication of your surname and school name, and for the mayor to use your design on his Christmas card. The design will also be published on our social media and other channels, and on our promotional materials should you be the winner.
  • The name of your school may be used in subsequent promotional materials so please make sure you have told your school you will be applying.
  • Entry into the competition will be deemed to constitute acceptance of these terms and condition
